Defending my life
My take on the 7 of wands card in the Light Seer’s Tarot deck (the photo is mine)
I am enveloped in a living,
breathing thing,
transparent, yet sturdy enough
to block out noise.
I sit inside, energy arching over my head,
encasing me in blissful quiet
as I grow and learn.
Outside, voices are calling,
knocking, wanting, needing.
I hear them far away, my eyes closed.
This is mine.
Poke at me, question what I do,
ask to come in.
I do not answer.
I’m sitting here,
breathing and dreaming,
defending my life.

I think this is a beautiful card from the Light-seer's tarot deck. But I've never fully understood it's meaning as shown by the accompanying booklet. It talks about "haters" and "defending your position". I think your interpretation is much softer. It's as if you are saying - think what you want of me, I am calm, serene and untouchable. Your words won't wound me. I barely register them". That matches the zen picture of the card beautifully so yet again you have told the story of the card, through a very human reaction to being misunderstood but not caring. I think showcasing the meaning of tarot through poetry is a wonderfully unique idea. I look forward to seeing some more. LOVE IT!!!
