Prompt: “It may just be the moon on display”
It may just be the moon on display
but it brings back that tender short day
with you.
That night, its silver rays lit up our faces
through the windshield.
You were beautiful
and I ate you up with my eyes,
wanting to weave you
into every fiber of my being.
The moon shone on my sun.
Prompt: “Lips willing, skin bare”
Lips willing, skin bare,
the sheen of moonbeams in your hair.
You are shadow-dappled heat
and the sweetest salt air.
Your mouth asks silent questions
and sings sacred songs.
I cannot breathe, cannot speak.
I let myself be carried along.
Prompt: “The moon says nothing”
I gather my cards,
light the candle,
place the crystal,
fill the cup with water
to catch the powerful dark
and waft smoke over it all.
Storms roll in as I breathe,
put pen to paper,
and ask the inky sky
the same question
I ask every time.
The moon says nothing.

Wow. Beautiful!
